The mysteries around the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton are gradually revealed. Now we found out that the official wedding's Champagne has ben from the French wine cellar Pol Roger, but we do not know which one in particular.
What we do know is that the future monarchs have decided not to choose a special vintage Champagne, so the candidates have been either the Pol Roger Brut Réserve, Pol Roger Pure and Pol Roger Rich, since all others are special vintage champagnes.
Pol Roger is a well considereted cellar in the English high society since Winston Churchill, a great fan of French wines. Mr. Churchill had chosen it as his favorite Champagne. In fact, the firm produces the Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill at his honor ever since then.
In the British Royal Family, however, until now the favorite has been Bollinger. Queen Victoria appointed him as the royal supplier in 1884, and in 1981, Bollinger was one of those served at the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, along with Krug and Dom Pérignon.
