Cheers to Spain!

Bottles of cava were popped all over Spain last night to celebrate  the winners of the 2010 World Cup, echoing the fireworks, horns, and shouts that could be heard until late in the night. If you want to join in the spirit you can salute the Spanish team with a glass of Segura Viudas Brut Reserva.

However, if you are Dutch, you might well be contemplating what kind of wine goes well with...

Who Tastes the Wine?

Ordering wine in a restaurant apparently not only creates confusion for the diner (which region? varietal? price? does it go with fish?), but also the sommelier. There's already been some discussion as to which person at the table should receive the wine list, but now a new debate is emerging thanks to Eric Asimov's recent article in the New York Times. The question now is, do you want the...

French wine to become the Coke of the wine world?

Wine: taste and feel it!

Last weekend I had the opportunity of tasting in my family's house in Provence a 1st Cru of Burgundy. A  Montracher Chassagne of 1999. And I started with my father, Henri Bour to make a comparison of tasting that both were having with this 100% Chardonnay. It came to my mind at that moment the hundred of times that many friends had told me that they never understand at all the wine they drank....

First Uvinum brainstorming

Some weeks ago, we had the opportunity to make our first Uvinum's brainstorming. We invited 7  wine lovers to join us and share opinions about wine and about our project. More than 3 hours together allowed us to have a clearer view on some of the points raised. There will be more meetings like this with different user profiles that will help us refine our positioning and our project.

We...

Uvinum, share your passion for wine

Passion for wine has inspired us to create Uvinum. The 3 founders have succeeded in unifying our passion for wine with another passion: to be entrepreneurs. That in itself is a great start. A start that was hatched on 9 December 2008 thanks to a simple message on Facebook under the subject "project".

Now over 7 months since that day, Uvinum has grown step by step. Many...
